Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the UNICEI website located at unicei.org and all courses, content, and services offered through the platform (“Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.

Section 1

Who We Are

Universal Continuing Education Institute (UNICEI) is operated under the name UNICEI and is registered with the IRS Return Preparer Office as an IRS-approved CE provider under Provider Number REBFU. Our registered address and contact information are available on the Contact page.

Section 2

Eligibility and Account Registration

You must be at least 18 years of age to register for an account and purchase courses on unicei.org. By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may not share your account login with others or allow third parties to access course content using your credentials. Each enrollment is for individual use only.

Section 3

Course Access and License

Upon purchasing a course, UNICEI grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and complete the course content for personal, non-commercial educational purposes. This license does not include the right to:

Copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any course content
Create derivative works based on course materials
Resell or sublicense access to courses
Use course content for commercial training purposes without written permission from UNICEI

Course access is granted for a reasonable period following purchase. If a specific access period applies to a course, it will be disclosed at the time of purchase.

Section 4

Payments and Pricing

All prices listed on unicei.org are in U.S. dollars. Payment is processed at the time of purchase through our secure payment processor. By completing a purchase, you authorize UNICEI to charge the payment method you provide for the total amount of your order.

Prices are subject to change at any time. Changes to pricing do not affect orders that have already been completed. UNICEI does not offer price adjustments on previously purchased courses.

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Section 5

Intellectual Property

All content on unicei.org, including but not limited to course materials, text, graphics, logos, images, audio, video, and software, is the property of UNICEI or its content licensors and is protected by U.S. copyright law and applicable international intellectual property laws.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use UNICEI’s trademarks, logos, or brand elements without prior written consent.

Section 6

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform or any other user’s account
Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Services or servers and networks connected to the Services
Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access, collect, or copy content from the platform without written permission
Misrepresent your identity or qualifications when registering or submitting information to the IRS
Submit false or fraudulent exam answers or misrepresent your course completion status

CE Credit Accuracy and Student Responsibility

UNICEI reports CE credits to the IRS on your behalf based on the information you provide during registration, including your PTIN. You are responsible for ensuring that your account information — particularly your PTIN and legal name — is accurate. UNICEI is not responsible for reporting errors that result from incorrect information provided by the student.

It is your responsibility to verify that the courses you select satisfy your applicable CE requirements for your credential type (Enrolled Agent, AFSP, CPA, etc.) and that you are completing sufficient credit hours in each required subject matter category.

UNICEI courses are intended for educational purposes and professional development. Course content does not constitute legal, tax, or financial advice. Tax law is subject to change, and while UNICEI makes reasonable efforts to keep course content current, we do not warrant that all content reflects the most recent legislative or regulatory changes at the time of your enrollment.

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, UNICEI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, OR LOSS OF PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS.

IN NO EVENT SHALL UNICEI’S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO UNICEI FOR THE SPECIFIC COURSE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Ohio.

Section 11

Changes to These Terms

UNICEI reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
