About Course

This course provides tax professionals with a comprehensive, practice-oriented introduction to fiduciary income taxation under Subchapter J of the Internal Revenue Code. The course addresses the most common areas of confusion encountered by tax preparers working with estates and trusts, including the distinction between simple and complex trusts, the character retention rules that govern beneficiary reporting, and the preparation of Schedule K-1 for Form 1041. The course concludes with a practical review of filing requirements, elections, deadlines, and common compliance errors that arise in fiduciary tax returns.

This course is the first in Universal Continuing Education Institute’s fiduciary taxation series and is designed to establish the foundational knowledge required for more advanced topics including distributable net income planning, fiduciary accounting, and estate administration.
