Building a Referral Network as a Tax Professional

About Course
A referral network is not the same thing as getting referrals. Most preparers experience referrals as something that happens to them — a client mentions their name, a colleague passes someone along — without ever building or managing the underlying professional relationships that actually determine whether that happens once or consistently. This course treats a referral network as what it actually is: an ongoing professional-relationship system that has to be deliberately built, structured, tracked, and kept within clear ethical boundaries — not a byproduct of doing good work and hoping people notice. This is a companion to, not a repeat of, this series’ client-acquisition course: that course covers referral as one channel among several for attracting new clients; this course goes deep on the professional referral network itself — choosing the right partners, structuring how the relationship actually works, measuring it like the asset it is, and knowing exactly where the ethical boundaries sit.
